This option within the history and social science majors is designed particularly for students interested in working for historic sites, museums, and archives. It is intended to provide students with practical experience for the public history profession. Public history courses and internships prepare students for careers related to public history and/or admission to graduate programs in archives and public history. Note: The Public History option is not available to students pursuing a social science major with minor in education for secondary licensure and certification.
EACH STUDENT MUST ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR KNOWING THE ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE THAT IS BEING PURSUED.

Students earning the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in Social Science - Public History Option must satisfy all general University requirements and meet all financial obligations before a degree is awarded.
