The degree programs in Biology prepare students for careers in education, health, research, and environmental stewardship. It provides a core set of knowledge needed for employment and for pursuing graduate and professional studies in those fields.
The Biology programs include majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree with additional options in Cell and Developmental Biology, Ecology and Organismal Biology, and Bioinformatics, as well as the Bachelor of Science degree with minor in Education (Grades 6-12) which leads to certification to teach Biology and related science courses at the middle and high school levels. Biology and Marine Science minors also are offered.
