Theatre (TH)

The degree programs in Theatre were designed to offer intense experiential training opportunities for students centered on fundamental performance and production techniques. The primary goal of the program is to assist students in completing their foundational liberal arts degree courses that are reinforced with practical artistic experiences on multiple mainstage productions. These Theatre courses also provide a solid core curriculum in acting, directing, stagecraft, theatre history, and dramatic literature introducing students to all aspects of Theatre. All courses are offered at the Alabama Center for the Arts, a state-of-the-art campus located in downtown Decatur, Alabama, where students will regularly work in our Studio Theatre, Scene Shop, and Rehearsal Studio. Our faculty is comprised of professional working artist/teachers who provide an intensive and collaborative production focused environment for artistic interaction and growth while presenting plays, musicals, and other performance projects.
