TH 470 Musical Theatre Showcase

This course allows students the opportunity to prepare for their senior showcase in order to present their skills to those working professionally in the entertainment industry.  This course must be taken during the the final semester as a senior.  This course is an opportunity for students to have demonstrated what they have learned during their years at Athens State University, as well as to have focused experience in their field of study.  The Musical Theatre Showcase will consist of three main components: 1). a comprehensive examination based on required courses in the student's program; 2.) a performance project designed around the student's needs and interests, submitted in a Casebook format; 3.) a presentation of work. Upon successful completion of this course, students will understand how to audition for productions, gain skills useful for networking in the entertainment industry, create an artistic casebook, collect, assess and integrate scholarly research into a research essay, and present their skills before peers and the public.
