Some courses require admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) and may not be fulfilled by substituting courses completed at another college or university. Refer to course prerequisites for details.

To submit a substitution request for other professional and teaching field courses completed at another college or university, students are required to provide an electronic copy of the course syllabus and/or description to their faculty advisor. This is an Alabama State Department of Education requirement. The Alabama State Department of Education ultimately decides whether or not a course will count as a substitution for an Athens State course after the syllabus and supporting documentation is evaluated.
