BI 342 Economic Botany

(Fulfills General Education Area III Natural Science). Presents important role plants have played in development of civilizations and cultures, past and present. Emphasis placed on origins of agriculture and domestication of plants, on development of early irrigation and rainfall agriculture civilizations, on importance of plants in religion, medicine, commerce, politics, and war, and on future of plants in relation to man.
