HY 431 Human Expansion

Humans have moved around the earth since prehistoric times. Today they are moving and communicating more than ever before. This course will look at how and why people have moved around the world as individuals and as groups. It will specifically focus on the roles of trade, travel, tourism, and empire in human expansion throughout the earth. The history, historiography, themes, and concepts associated with human expansion will be examined in detail.
