HY 430 Globalization: Concepts and History

(Also listed as SS 430) Satisfies the American, European, or Non-Western requirement based on a BA or a minor in history as well as elective requirements for the minor and American or Non-American History for the BS in Social Science. Globalization is a phenomenon that in the last fifty years has come to be explicitly recognized in the worlds of politics, economics, and culture. It also has ancient roots. This course will investigate the history, historiography, themes and concepts associated with globalization.
