(DL) This course covers the post-impressionist period through 1945. Students understand how present and past responses to the major styles of art history developed and theories of criticism from this period developed. Students understand how our present responses based on knowledge of artist's life experiences and past audience experiences developed. Students analyze ways that visual components and cultural associations suggested by images influenced ideas, emotions, and actions in society at the time.
