CS 597 Project and Research Methods

Students will work closely with the faculty member teaching the course to identify an area of interest to focus their project/thesis. Students will be required to identify their primary project/thesis advisor during this course along with two additional graduate faculty members to form their project/thesis advisory committee. Students will be guided through the steps of creating a project/thesis proposal, preparing for a project/thesis defense, and writing a statement of work before they begin to work on their individual project requirements. Students will be required to register for a second semester where they will work one on one with their primary project/thesis advisor to develop their project/research and to defend their work. Future enrollment to complete the work will be discussed towards the end of the semester.
