GN 452 Preventing Genocide

This course focuses on genocide prevention across all phases of the conflict cycle, namely, preventing genocide from taking place; preventing further atrocities once genocide has begun; and identifying and preventing future atrocities. It draws upon a global range of historical case studies and current crisis sites from around the world. Students will analyze interactions between national governmental agencies, independent organizations, and non-governmental organizations at various levels of engagement, as well as at the level of regional and global agencies such as the UN and International Court of Justice.
