GN 353 History of Genocide

This class explores genocide, exterminations, and mass atrocities throughout history, from ancient times through early imperial expansion and settler colonialism up to the present. Its examination includes the Armenian genocide, Ukrainian Holodomor, Jewish Holocaust, and more recent instances of mass atrocity and their place in the history of genocide studies. The investigation is global in scope, encompasses centuries of violence, and is critical in its approach, as it examines and questions definitions and cases of genocide through the ages.
