ITE 421 Digital Forensics

(Lab Fee) This course covers the fundamentals of digital forensics, that is, the recovery and investigation of material found in digital devices, often in relation to computer crime. The focus of the course is on the technical aspects of a forensics investigation with an emphasis on: (1) legal considerations of the digital domain, (2) technical implications of the rules of evidence, (3) tools and techniques for computer and network forensics, (4) forensic data analysis, and (4) mobile device forensics. Students will gain hands-on lab experience in each of these areas of emphasis.
