DR 324 Props Design

This course will focus on the development and creation of physical props created for a production to be used on stage by actors. Props will range from paper projects such as letters and books, to large objects to dress a set and have actors interact with, to weapons and other items heavily used by actors on stage. The course will go over research and design of an object, through creation and use of the object on stage as well as handling, tracking, and management of properties through the process of a production. This course is meant to be an introduction to working as a properties manager or props artisan at the professional level. The course is both project and lecture based.
