ASTE 415 Project-Based Instruction

Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP). This is the capstone course in the teaching methods sequence.  Project-based, case-based, and problem-based learning environments are examined.  The major principles and themes of Athens State TEACH program are synthesized as students develop a problem-based instructional unit.  Topics include curriculum development in math and science education, classroom management, and organization of project-based learning classrooms.  Intensive field experience is expected as the teacher candidates observe, plan for instruction, and teach in the local schools and potentially participate in out-of-classroom field trips/investigations.
