MA 200 Contemporary Topics in Mathematics

(Fulfills General Education Area III Mathematics. Cannot be used to satisfy the requirements for upper-level mathematics elective for STEM majors.) This survey course introduces students to a variety of mathematical topics. Students develop mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills by exploring real-world applications of measurement, relevant finance, counting techniques, elementary descriptive and inferential statistics, voting, and mathematics in the arts and nature.
