TH 324 Lighting and Projection Design

This course will concentrate on the needed skills, design process, and scheduling to prepare a student to work as a Lighting Designer or Projection Designer at the professional, community, and educational levels. Students will learn to analyze a given written source material and create from that and a directorial vision, lighting scapes and visuals that can enhance the environment created by the Scenic Designer that actors can occupy to tell the story of the production.  The class will focus on practical analysis and the creation of design packages and renderings that would then be presented to the design teams, actors, and the Lead Electrician or Video Lead, who would then execute the design.  This course will primarily focus on digital drafting and video creation techniques and meeting interaction to prepare students for this kind of working environment.  The creation of working technical documents will also be discussed and analyzed.
