This course provides an in-depth examination of the creation, development, and operations of governmental processes and agencies at all levels relating to environmental awareness and protection activities in the public sector. The interactions among the historical development of environmental awareness in America, the emergence of the Environmental Movement and advocacy groups, and various governmental actors are examined. The course examines governmental responses in terms of the creation of environmentally-focused agencies, passage of legislations, and administrative rule-making and regulation.
