Also listed as HS 481. This course provides an overview of quality assurance, risk management of the organization, and administration of health care delivery systems in the United States. It examines the history, roles, and interactions of the various providers, consumers, and governments in the field of quality assurance. Topics include: concepts of the monitoring and evaluation of the quality, timeliness and appropriateness of patient care and services provided in health care organizations; overview of regulatory guidelines and industry standards; current issues in quality measurement and outcomes, as well as risk management, utilization review, patient satisfaction, medical errors, patient safety and data mining.
