BI 451 Marine Biology

Fees. This course is an introduction to salt water and salt marsh environments. This course is offered for students to obtain first hand field experience in marine ecosystems especially on the Gulf Coast. Class lecture content includes the microbial, and planktonic life forms, marine invertebrates, and marine vertebrates around the world, and specifically on the Gulf Coast. Laboratory and field exercises will include sampling, collecting, preserving and identification techniques for specimens on the Gulf Coast using various dichotomous keys for the species observed and collected
