ASM 482 Mission Planning and Control

Also listed as MG 482. This course addresses the concepts of space mission conceptualization, planning, communications, and control while operating in near Earth and planetary orbits. Previous mission planning from NASA missions such as those used during International Space Station, Space Shuttle, Project Apollo and other sources will be utilized as well as un-crewed missions such as the Mars Perseverance Rover. Students will develop and simulate a typical mission in a team environment, including communications and data management utilizing a simulated world-wide deep space network using ZOOM. The team mission will be published as part of the class.
